Women in Marketing Awards 2018

At EMR we’re passionate about helping all marketers to develop their careers, no matter their level, expertise, background or gender. But, as our Salary & Market Report 2018 highlighted, the playing field isn’t always even. We found double the number of males versus female CMO’s and that men dominate top-level roles and, therefore, top-level pay. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Women in Marketing to celebrate the great achievements of women in the industry and to go some way to help to bridge the gender divide that exists.

Women in Marketing empowers women to fulfil their potential within the marketing profession. Their mission is to educate, inspire, connect, recognise and empower women through the cycle of their lives.

We’re especially proud to be partnering their 8th annual Women in Marketing Awards, which are being held in the Museum of London on 7th November 2018 and will be hosted by Gemma Greaves, CEO of The Marketing Society. The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in the marketing, advertising and communications fields around the globe. There are 12 award categories to enter and EMR are especially supporting the great female marketers that we know at both levels of the industry, with the Best Leader in Marketing and The One to Watch awards. Change can’t only come from within, however, and that’s why we are also pleased to recommend the Equality Advocate of the Year award – which recognises the men that are helping to encourage more female leaders.

Best Leader in Marketing - recognises the client and the agency leaders who have demonstrated exemplary communications leadership in the course of the past year. The winner is one who demonstrates self-awareness, decisiveness in the face of challenging circumstances, the size of the business challenge tackled and the ability to inspire others around her.

The One to Watch - recognises someone whose advancement through Marketing roles has been fast with a correlated expansion of responsibilities and achievements. The individual will have less than 7 years’ experience, as a marketing professional in any sector either client or brand side, and will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and application of marketing best practice.

Equality Advocate of the Year - This award is reserved for a male individual who has gone above and beyond to promote gender equality and encourage more female leaders. They will need to have proven that they have created some form of movement around gender equality and evidence of advocating flexible working environments that enables mothers to return to work.

Please note that the awards are now closed. Congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted! You can find the 2018 awards shortlist here
